Out of a need to have the right materials on the job at the right time, Eric Biscaro (who started Classic Home Improvements in 1977) a contractor was frustrated at the level of service received from large city wholesalers, so he teamed up with Ronald Konka and decided to start a roofing/siding/window distribution centered in Batavia, NY in 1987, to not only service his own company, but to service other contractors as well. Eric realized how steel is growing and wanted to offer it to his customers at a reasonable price. Then the idea came for making metal.

This company was built on taking good care of customers and accommodating their needs better and faster.

The Metal Center has continued its service to other areas. In 1995, they expanded to Canadaguia, NY where Jeff Merkel joined Eric and Ron as a partner, and the three of them and as ever-growing group of employees have expanded into Olean, NY in 2001. We just added an Elmira, NY facility with 76,000 sq. ft. - 3 times the space needed for a Metal Center store - Room for Opportunity!!!
